Texxa beta testing
Thanks for your interest in trying this out! Texxa can basically access the greater internet on your behalf, so long as you can send a 160-character SMS message.
I’ve added data sources to enable more accurate/realtime info, such as weather, web search, any website by address (fetch), maps, transit, even send an email or check your calendar (although that all seems less useful for the backcountry).
I’ve been trying hard to make it reliable, but it’s still raw. I’ve tried to scrape together documentation below.

Channels
There are several messaging apps that can be used with Texxa. For backcountry use, SMS is the only one that can be used.
If you have a data connection, other messaging apps will give you a better experience.
